Pupil Premium Grant
The Pupil Premium Grant is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement. These include pupils who are entitled to free school meals; or who have received free school meals in the past 6 years, those looked after by the local authority/adopted or under special guardianship and children of armed service personnel.
Shillington Lower School is committed to promoting the progress and attainment of all our pupils, whatever their backgrounds. The Pupil Premium Grant is used to assist Shillington Lower in our overall aim of helping children achieve their full potential as learners and young people – it supports us in achieving our vision of ‘enjoy, aspire and achieve together to be the best that we can
In the 2017 to 2018 financial year schools received the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:
- £1,320 for pupils in reception year to year 6
Schools also received £1,900 for each pupil who has left local-authority care because of one of the following:
- a special guardianship order
- a child arrangements order
- a residence order

For 2017/2018, 16% of the children at Shillington Lower were eligible for Pupil Premium.
Total number of pupils on roll = 124
Total number of pupils eligible for PPG = 20
Total amount of PPG = £28,720
For 2018/19, 11% of the children at Shillington Lower were eligible for Pupil Premium.
Total number of pupils on roll = 117
Total number of pupils eligible for PPG = 13
Total amount of PPG = £20,440
