Age Range Change Update

SCHOOL AGE RANGE CHANGE UPDATE FROM GOVERNING BOARD
In our letter to you of 25 November we promised to provide an update on our progress to change the school’s age range once we had received further information from Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC).
We are pleased to inform you that the CBC Executive Committee met on 7 February and gave their approval to the publication of the statutory notice for the proposed age range change for Shillington Lower School. A copy of the full statutory proposal has been sent to parents via ParentMail, and the statutory notice and response form have been sent on paper via book bags. All documents are also available in the links below.
Could we please encourage you to respond to CBC’s consultation. The more responses that they receive in favour, the more likely they are to agree to the proposal. You can do this either:
a. on paper by completing the form in the link below and sending it off direct (freepost, no stamp is needed) or via the school office
b. online through the CBC consultations database (please note, at the time of writing the documents had not been loaded onto the database but we are assured they will be by 9 February). This can be accessed at:
The closing date is midday on Wednesday 15 March 2017.
What happens next?
The CBC Executive Committee will consider the responses to the consultation and make a decision on the proposal at its meeting on 4 April 2017.
We will provide further information to parents when we receive it ourselves from CBC.
Richard Winslade Juliet Parker
Chair, Governing Board Headteacher
