Safeguarding

Shillington Lower School takes its responsibility to promote safeguarding the welfare of all children seriously.

 

The designated person for safeguarding children is the Deputy Headteacher - Mrs Young .

The deputy designated person for safeguarding children is the SEMH TA - Ms Copeland.

The governor responsible for safeguarding is Katie Brettell.

All adults working at Shillington Lower School, including volunteers and governors, have satisfactory clearances and rigorous safer recruitment processes are in place when employing staff.  All staff and volunteers have at least annual training in child protection.  If any member of staff has concerns regarding a child's well-being they will advise the Headteacher.

 

The school has a duty to report any concerns that a child may be at risk of harm to Children's Social Care.
